Trump and Biden offer Christmas greetings as US approaches transfer of power
As a change in presidential administrations approaches, President-elect Trump and President Biden both marked the Christmas holiday, with Biden acknowledging that it would be his last time as president to wish the nation a merry Christmas.

As the presidency transitions, President-elect Donald Trump and President Joe Biden both shared Christmas greetings, marking a poignant moment in the nation's leadership. Biden reflected on his final holiday season as president, expressing gratitude and hope for the country.
On Truth Social, Trump proclaimed, "MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!" and posted a festive photo of himself and Melania, emblazoned with the same greeting.
Meanwhile, Biden used the @POTUS X account to share his farewell holiday message: "For the last time as your president, it's my honor to wish all of America a very Merry Christmas. My hope for our nation, today and always, is that we continue to seek the light of liberty and love, kindness and compassion, dignity and decency. May God bless you all." A separate post on his personal @JoeBiden X account featured a photo of him and First Lady Jill Biden, captioned, "Merry Christmas, everyone!"
Trump, who will take office on January 20 after defeating Vice President Kamala Harris in November, achieved a historic milestone, becoming the second U.S. president elected to two non-consecutive terms, following Grover Cleveland.
This Christmas also signals the end of Biden's long career in Washington politics. As the oldest president in U.S. history, Biden opted not to seek re-election in 2024 after facing significant intra-party pressure following a poorly received debate performance against Trump.
